Mission      

Wangaratta Amateur Swimming Club is a community based swimming club which provides regular training to improve and promote fitness, improve swimming technique, have fun and make friends.  

 

Vision         

Wangaratta Amateur Swimming Club is committed to being a professional, welcoming organisation which enables members to transition after Learn To Swim through our squad programs to continue their development as swimmers and/or competitors in age group, Open and Masters swimming. Members are able to compete locally, and with eligible times, at State or National levels.

The club is structured to maximise the outcome for each and every swimmer. To this end there are four groups within the club which work together to assist the swimmer to maximise their outcomes. Committee, Coaches, Parents and Member Protection Contact.

 

Their primary role is: 

 

Committee – Responsible for club governance, legal duties, strategy and planning and overseeing club operations. This includes a range of activities such as:  club philosophy, implementation of safe sport framework, financial management, staffing and working collaboratively with stakeholders including club members, pool management and district, State and National swimming organisations.

 

Coaches – Responsible for the swimming program. This includes:

coaching philosophy; Club Technical model; Year, Preparation, Weekly and Session planning; assisting swimmers with goal setting; Assisting swimmers with event selection.

 

Parents – As the swimmer’s #1 fan, parents provide a level of support like no other. A parents’ support is wide ranging and includes emotional, nutritional, financial, and logistical.  

 

Member Protection Contact – The member protection contact is the first point of contact for any enquiries, concerns or complaints around harassment, abuse and other inappropriate behaviour. The MPC will provide information and support to the person with the concern, and explain the complaint process and options available under the Child Safe Standards process.
